Alitu: The Audio Engineer You Can Actually Afford
Most podcasting tools assume you want to be an audio engineer. They throw multi-track timelines, EQ bands, and compression ratios at you, expecting you to learn the dark arts of sound design just to get an interview out the door. Alitu takes the opposite approach. It is built strictly for people who want to record their conversations, clean them up without looking at a waveform, and hit publish.

The Everything in One Browser Tab Workflow
The main selling point here is consolidation. Instead of recording a remote call in Zoom, dumping the audio into Audacity to cut out the awkward pauses, using Auphonic to level the volume, and then uploading the final MP3 to Buzzsprout, you do all of that inside Alitu.
The built-in call recorder is surprisingly stable. While other browser-based recording tools often suffer from audio drift or sync issues, Reddit users frequently point to Alitu's recording reliability as a major reason they stick around.
Once your audio is captured or uploaded, the automated cleanup kicks in. The app applies Magic Filters which automatically remove background noise, level out the volume between a quiet host and a loud guest, and trim out prolonged silences and filler words like "um" and "ah".
For editing the actual content, Alitu provides a text-based editor. Skip it if you are producing highly produced audio dramas, need multi-track precision, or have zero budget and need to rely on free open-source tools.
